The short version
Ideal Electrical Solutions LLC was formed in Minnesota in November 2016. For most of that time the work was one thing: replacing electrical panels and upgrading services. Federal Pacific and Zinsco swaps, 100 to 200 amp upgrades for additions and EVs, subpanels for shops and garages, and the meter and service-entrance work that goes with it. Hundreds of open panels, every one of them permitted and inspected.
In 2026 Josh moved the business to Prescott and took out an Arizona Registrar of Contractors license: ROC #365428, CR-11 Dual Electrical, which covers residential and commercial electrical work. The Minnesota license stays active. The specialty came along unchanged.
Why panels
A panel replacement is the one electrical job where doing it right is visible. Every circuit gets landed, torqued, and written on the directory card. The inspector opens the cover and can see the work. The homeowner gets a photo set and a letter that an insurer or a buyer's agent will accept. That is a satisfying way to spend a day, and it is the part of the trade Josh is best at.
Prescott turned out to be the right town for it. Nearly half the housing stock dates from 1970 to 1999, the years when Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco panels went into garages across the West. Arizona insurers now flag those panels at underwriting and at renewal. The APS Public Safety Power Shutoff program and monsoon lightning have made transfer switches and surge protection a normal conversation. And 200 amp services are the starting point for EV chargers and heat pumps, which older 100 amp panels cannot carry.
How we work
- Quote from a photo. Text the open panel and the meter to (928) 482-2230. You get a written quote, usually the same business day, with the permit included in the price.
- Permit on every job. City of Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, or Yavapai County. We file it, we meet the inspector, we close it out.
- Labeled before we leave. The directory card inside the door is filled out by hand. You get photos of the finished panel for your records.
- Honest scope. If a 100 amp panel can carry your EV charger with load management, we say so. If your generator plan needs a dealer, we point you to one and wire what they deliver.
What we do not do
We do not sell or size generators, solar, or batteries. We do not run a sales visit with a tablet and a financing pitch. We do not take on new-construction wiring for whole subdivisions. Panel and service work first, EV and backup-power circuits second, general service calls as they come.
